I've been on Facebook for quite a while now and the longer I am on the site, the more appalled I become. There seems to be a certain age range of people who use the site that just can't seem to post their status without having to use some form of cuss word!
At first, it was very rare to see the "F" word, but it seems to cropping it's ugly head up more and more. I don't know, maybe I'm getting older. Maybe my tolerance is getting lower.
It was explained to me if people used a lot of colorful language in their speech or description, they weren't doing to be accepted or cool. They do it because of the lack of vocabulary. My suggestion is for those folks to try and expand their choice of words. Go to the dictionary or a Thesaurus. Look for ways to express what you are saying without having to use cuss words; especially the F dash, dash, dash word. You'll be the wiser for it!
I want this blog to bring love, hope and purpose to all who take the time to read it. Any feedback is welcome, but please allow that feedback to be positive and helpful to others

What a week this has been....
This picture says a thousand words. On October 13, 2010 the world watched as the trapped miners in Chile were freed. The elation and joyful looks on the faces in the crowd were priceless. Then we see this miner get on his knees and say a thankful prayer for his and his fellow miners safe return to the surface of the earth.
I am glad and thankful the nightmare for those 33 men is over...at least getting out of what could have been their graves. They have a long way to go in the healing process, but hopefully the resources will be there for them and their families.
Hopefully, someone will have paid attention on how to handle a crisis. I'm just sayin'.......

No news is good news.....
Have you ever thought "maybe when I turn on the TV to catch up on the daily news, I'll be overwhelmed with all the good in the world rather than all of the bad?"
I have.
It's gotten to the point to where I would rather NOT know what is going on outside my four walls. I know, I'm being just a bit naive, but can I just for once, turn on the news and hear nothing but GOOD THINGS??? Just one day of the media reporting something positive. Am I asking too much?
Right now, I'm searching the internet to see if there is actually a place where all that is reported in good news. I found one! It's called www.goodnewsdaily.com. I'm going to take it for a spin and see how it goes.
In the meantime, I would encourage you to reflect and think on positive things today. Try not listening or watching the news for one day. Try looking for the good instead of the bad in the world today.
Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - think about such things.
Have a wonderfully positive day!

LOVE....
LOVE never gives up
LOVE cares more for others than for self
LOVE doesn't want what it doesn't have
LOVE doesn't strut
LOVE doesn't have a swelled head
LOVE doesn't force itself on others
LOVE isn't always "me first"
LOVE doesn't fly off the handle
LOVE doesn't keep score of the sins of others
LOVE doesn't revel when others grovel
LOVE takes pleasure in the flowering of truth
LOVE puts up with anything
LOVE trusts GOD always
LOVE always looks for the best
LOVE never looks back
LOVE keeps on going to the end
Out of work and nothin to do...
On August 27th 2010 I closed and locked the door to my employer's office for the last time. You see, after almost 20 years of my employer being in the market place (10 of those years I was a part of), my job no longer existed. The company I worked for no longer existed.
Talk about blow! I had always thought I would be at my last place of employment until; (a). I was let go or (2). I retired. Imagine my surprise!
I've been unemployed for almost 2 months now. At first, it was very difficult for me to accept not getting up every morning and reporting to a job that I actually liked. Then I started to look at being unemployed as a "vacay". That lasted for about 2 weeks.
I have applied for unemployment, so checking the Work In Texas website (http://www.workintexas.com/) every day, making sure I fulfill my obligations to generate my benefit check, that's about all of the "excitement" I encounter during the day. Of course, that doesn't include, having my quiet time with God, eating breakfast, playing with the dog (you'll learn more about Rowdy as this progresses), eating lunch, playing with the dog, watching "Let's Make a Deal", playing with the dog (is there a theme working here?). To be more precise, I had to find SOMETHING to do to make my days not so loonngg...
I have started reading "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. It is suggested the reader only read a chapter a day, which I am doing. Which is good advise because I don't think I could retain more than one chapter at a time. So far, I have learned my purpose for being here on this earth and why God created me for "such a time as this." It's a work in progress.

Love, Hope and Purpose
Really not sure how to do this "blog" thing. Everybody, it seems, has a blog somewhere out in the universe. So, after reading a couple of them from various friends and the topics they blog about, I thought, "why not me too?"
So, here I am blogging for the first time. I want to use this blog as a place where love, hope and purpose are found just as the title says. I am hoping to be able to put my thoughts into this as well as other's thoughts, quotes, rants, raves. Whatever will help those who read this get through the day.
Feel free to comment and leave feed back.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
